WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in cross country. The awards are for meets from September 14-20.
 
MEN  
Performer of the Week: Alex DeRoussel (Gr., Mason, Ohio), George Mason
Rookie Performer of the Week: Kolbin Heberlig (Fr.), George Mason
 
WOMEN
Performer of the Week: Oliwia Wawryzniak (Sr., Poznan, Poland), Saint Louis
Rookie Performer of the Week: Ella Solorzano (Fr., Clifton, N.J.), Richmond
 
George Mason has a lot to celebrate this week, as Alex DeRoussel and Kolbin Heberlig were named Performer of the Week and Rookie Performer of the Week after a strong showing at the Main Line Invitational. DeRoussel came away as the individual winner at the event with a time of 19:35.4. Heberlig placed top 15 as well, finishing 14th with a time of 19:59.8. Both finishes, in addition to three other top 15 Patriots, helped George Mason claim second as a team at the event.
 
For the second time this season, Saint Louis’ Oliwia Wawryzniak was named the top runner in the conference following a first-place finish in the 6K. The senior clocked a 20:44.8 to finish a full minute and a half ahead of second place. Wawryzniak’s efforts spearheaded a Billiken unit that took care of home turf, placing first as a team in the Billiken Invitational. Richmond’s Ella Solorzano put together a strong day as well, finishing 32nd out of a field of 167. Solorzano represented the Spiders’ best finisher for the second meet this year and her finish helped the Spiders place fourth among 15 squads at the Adidas XC Challenge.
