WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in field hockey. The awards are for games played from September 7-13.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Sierra Larson (Sr., North Vancouver, B.C.), Saint Louis
Defensive Player of the Week: Abby Boggs (Sr., Salem, N.J.), La Salle
Rookie of the Week: Abril Peroni (Fr., Cordoba, Argentina), Richmond
 
Sierra Larson scored five goals across two games over the weekend. She recorded a hat trick in the Billikens' 6-0 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday, then followed that performance up a day later by scoring both of SLU's goals in a narrow 3-2 loss at Central Michigan.
 
Abby Boggs was perhaps the biggest reason La Salle got its first win under first-year head coach Mackenzie Allessie on Sunday. The Explorers went to penalty strokes with Queens University, and Boggs stopped all five of the Royals’ stroke attempts. She needed all of them, as La Salle converted just one stroke—but it was enough for the victory. Earlier in the week, Boggs tallied 16 saves in a loss at Penn.
 
Abril Peroni made her presence felt in the midfield and on the Spiders’ corner unit, serving a disrupter, connector and distributor in both games. Richmond led the defensive penalty corner unit, which held Georgetown and No. 5 North Carolina without a goal on eight penalty corner chances. The Spiders are 4-2 on the season, with the losses coming to top-10 programs UNC and Duke.
