Philadelphia, PA - On Monday, March 23, the La Salle women's basketball team will compete in a postseason tournament for the first time since the 1991-92 season as the team hosts Binghamton at John E. Glaser Arena at 6:00 PM in a WNIT second round matchup.
Scouting the Bearcats
Binghamton defeated Mercyhurst on the road in the first round of the WNIT on Thursday, 81-60. Junior forward and Germantown Academy alum, Kendall Bennett dominated the Lakers, scoring 23 points while shooting 11/12. She added 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks.
The Bearcats are 20-12 on the season and fell to second-seeded Maine in the America East semifinals earlier this month.
La Salle and Binghamton have met six times, with the Bearcats sporting a 4-2 series lead. The two teams last played in 2013, when the Bearcats took a 57-56 victory at the Blue Sky Classic hosted by Dartmouth..
Postseason Recognition
Ashleigh Connor and Aryss Macktoon were each named to the All-Conference Second Team, while Macktoon also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, becoming the first player in La Salle women's basketball history to claim the award. The duo stood as the only pair in the conference to each average 15 points per game and as they each played a pivotal role in all of the Explorers' 17 wins this season.
Chasing the Century Mark
Head coach Mountain MacGillivray sits at 99 career wins heading into the WNIT, while Aryss Macktoon sits at 98 steals in the 2025-26 season.
The Only One
This season, Aryss Macktoon is the only player in the nation to average her statline. Of all Division I players who average at least three steals per game (18 in the nation), she ranks 7th in scoring average (15.1), and 2nd in rebounding average (7.7).
A-10 Ash
For the second straight season, Ashleigh Connor had a phenomenal time in Henrico. After hitting a buzzer-beater to top VCU in the first round last season, she averaged 17 PPG, 6 RPG, 6 APG, and 5 SPG in two contests this year at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship.
5 in the top 5
La Salle is the only team in the Atlantic 10 with a player in the top-five in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks per game. Ashleigh Connor ranks third in points (15.7) and second in assists (4.0). Aryss Macktoon ranks third in rebounds (7.7) and first in steals (3.2). Amiya Moses ranks fifth in blocks (1.3).
In her Bun Era
Since sporting a bun for the first time this season against Saint Joseph's, Joan Quinn is shooting 46.9% (23/49) from three over the past eleven games. Over that stretch, she is averaging 13.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while scoring in double figures in eight out of eleven contests. The Explorers are 8-4 this season in games where Quinn makes multiple three-pointers and 12-6 when she scores at least 10.
