Richmond Picked to Repeat as Atlantic 10 Women’s Golf Champions

WASHINGTON – Richmond women’s golf has been selected to win the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship in the league’s annual Championship Poll, which was released Friday.
 
The Spiders garnered four first-place votes in the poll, which was conducted among the league’s head women’s golf coaches. Richmond, which totaled with 34 points in the six-team poll, won the 2025 championship, which capped inaugural Atlantic 10 women’s golf season. UR returns all five players from last year’s championship team, including medalist Hannah Lydic.
 
Loyola Chicago was picked second in the poll with 28 points and one first-place vote. Grace Hui, who placed seventh in the A-10 Championship, returns for the Ramblers.
 
Dayton was third, just behind the Loyola Chicago with 27 points with one first-place selection. Emma Sparling, who was sixth in the 2025 A-10 Championship, is Dayton’s top returnee.
 
Duquesne finished fourth in the poll with 19 points, and returns Sasha Petrochko, who tied for eighth last year. The Dukes were followed by Saint Joseph’s in fifth and La Salle in sixth. This is the second season of play for both Duquesne and Saint Joseph’s.

The 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Golf Championship begins Monday, April 20 at Evermore Resort in Orlando, Fla. The six A-10 golf teams will play 18 holes per day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Practice rounds are slated for Sunday. Admission to the Atlantic 10 Women’s Golf Championship is free. The winner of the 54-hole event will receive the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
