Bennett Named Under Armour Penultimate Player of the Week; Myers Garners Rookie

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Dayton senior Javon Bennett the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Saint Joseph’s freshman Khaafiq Myers was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards, the second to last of the 2025-26 season, were announced Monday and are for games played Feb. 23 March 1.
 
Bennett helped carry Dayton to a 2-0 week and their fifth consecutive win, averaging 21.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 54.2 percent from the floor and 56.3 percent from behind the arc. The Orlando, Fla., guard scored 17 points and had a season-high five rebounds in UD’s win over No. 23-ranked Saint Louis, and followed it up with a 25-point, four-assist showing at George Washington. Bennett’s performance against GW saw him shoot an impressive 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the floor and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from behind the arc.
 
Myers posted two of his best games of the season during a 2-0 week for the Hawks, in which he averaged 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting better than 69 percent from the floor. Against George Mason on Wednesday, the guard from Philadelphia went-5-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range, scoring 12. He also pulled in six rebounds and had six assists without committing a turnover. Against Rhode Island on Saturday, he provided a needed spark off the bench with nine points, a team-high eight rebounds and three assists. He also had two steals and his first career block. Overall for the week, he connected on 9-of-13 shots (69.2 percent) and was 3-for-4 from 3-point range.

Roberts Blums had 17 points and three assists in a win over La Salle, following up on a 10-rebounds performance at Duquesne earlier in the week … Davidson freshman Devin Brown averaged 12 points, shooting .636 (7-of-11) from the field, including 3-for-3 in 3-pointers … Defending Co-Player of the Week Dejour Reaves led Fordham with 22 points and eight assists on the road at VCU, shooting .500 form the field and 6-of-6 at the line … George Mason’s Riley Allenspach had a strong week, with back-to-back 20 point games, with 23 points and five rebounds versus Saint Joseph’s and 21 points and six boards against St. Bonaventure … Miles Rubin scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting (.700) with five rebounds in Loyola Chicago’s win over Richmond … Rhode Island’s Tyler Cochran averaged 17.0 points and 11.rebounds over two games, with scored 21 points and seven rebounds, shooting 5-of-6 from 3-point range against the Bonnies, followed by a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds against Saint Joseph's … Derek Simpson scored 23 points on 10-of-15 (.667) with eight assists and three steals in Saint Joseph’s win over George Mason, followed by 18 points, five assists and three steals at Rhody … Saint Louis’ Robbie Avila scored 23 points with seven rebounds and seven assists, shooting .667 (8-for-12) from the field and 5-of-7 (.714) from 3-point range in a win over Duquesne … VCU freshman Nyk Lewis tallied 11 points, four rebounds and three assists shooting 4-of-8 (.500) from the field.
