WASHINGTON – High Point junior Justin Wixted and Richmond senior Hunter Smith were tabbed as the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Lacrosse offensive and defensive players of the week. Hobart freshman Michael Johnson collected Rookie of the Week awards, the league announced on Monday. The awards are the first for the 2026 season and are for games played from Feb. 2 – 8.
Wixted notched a career-high nine points in High Point’s 19-11 win over VMI. The Limerick, PA native totaled a career-high six assists and scored three goals. Wixted, an attack, caused one turnover and totaled four shots in the season opener.
Smith, a native of Rochester, NY, recorded a career-high performance in Richmond’s 17-7 victory against Robert Morris. The senior defender doubled his previous career-high in ground balls with eight, while setting a personal best four caused turnovers.
Johnson won his collegiate debut in Hobart’s 13-8 win over Canisius. The Berwyn, PA native finished the game with 14 saves, including four in the second quarter and five in the fourth quarter.
