HENRICO, Va. — After tremendous campaigns from both programs, Rhode Island and George Mason shared the 2026 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Regular Season title. Both teams posted 16-2 records in league play to earn the status of A-10 Regular Season Co-Champions.
Rhode Island finished the regular season with a 25-4 overall record. The Rams earned the top seed in the upcoming Betterment Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship, with their head-to-head win over George Mason breaking the tie.
George Mason, who secured its first A-10 Championship in program history last year with a dazzling postseason run, will look to defend its title as the No. 2 seed. The Patriots went 21-8 overall, winning their last five games.
The Betterment Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Championship returns to the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Henrico, Va. for the third consecutive year. The championship, which tips off Wednesday, March 4 and concludes Sunday, March 8, showcases all 14 A-10 programs with the league title and the conference’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
Richmond will enter the league championship as the No. 3 seed with a 15-3 conference record. The Spiders own a 25-6 overall record, their third consecutive season with 25 or more wins.
Davidson defeated Saint Louis on Saturday, clinching the No. 4 seed in the process with a 12-6 league record and 20-11 overall mark. After reaching the A-10 Championship final in 2025, Saint Joseph’s will enter the postseason as the No. 5 seed with a 10-8 league record (19-10 overall), earning the tiebreaker over La Salle (17-12, 10-8 A-10) by beating the Explorers twice in the regular season.
As the No. 6 seed, La Salle will await the result of Wednesday’s bout between No. 11 seed Saint Louis (11-20, 5-13 A-10) and No. 14 seed Fordham (10-19, 2-16 A-10) to determine its Thursday opponent. Dayton (16-13, 9-9 A-10) and Loyola Chicago (13-16, 9-9 A-10) finished tied for seventh in the standings, with Dayton earning the No. 7 seed through the A-10 tiebreaker policy.
No. 8 seed Loyola Chicago will face No. 9 seed St. Bonaventure (16-14, 7-11 A-10) at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the second round. George Washington (15-16, 7-11 A-10) received the No. 10 seed due to the A-10 tiebreaker policy and will meet Dayton in the second round at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
No. 12 seed Duquesne (11-18, 4-14 A-10) will open the championship against No. 13 seed VCU (8-22, 4-14 A-10) on Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET.

ESPN+ will stream Wednesday’s first round doubleheader and Thursday’s second round games. The quarterfinals will air on USA Networks on Friday, with Saturday’s semifinals taking place on CBS Sports Network. The championship final will tip-off at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, with Courtney Lyle and Carolyn Peck on the call for the nationally-televised ESPN2 broadcast.
