WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Richmond senior Maggie Doogan and Rhode Island senior Brooklyn Gray as the Under Armour Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week. Duquesne freshman Alexis Bordas was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from Feb. 9 - Feb. 15.

Doogan led Richmond to a pair of dominant victories last week, averaging 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from 3-point range. The forward from Broomall, Pa. recorded her ninth double-double of the season on Wednesday, posting 23 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in a 75-52 win over St. Bonaventure. She kept the momentum going to lead Richmond past Davidson, 65-43, on the road Saturday, tallying 26 points and six rebounds.

Gray put together a standout week to power the Rams to two more wins, pushing the program’s streak to 17 straight victories – the longest in program history and the fourth largest win streak in Division I. The guard from Rockford, Ill. averaged 21.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game across both contests, shooting 51.9 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from behind the arc, and a perfect 10-of-10 at the free throw line. After opening the week with 12 points and eight rebounds in a comfortable win against VCU, Gray exploded for 30 points and nine rebounds to push the Rams over George Mason on Valentine’s Day.
Bordas played an instrumental role in helping Duquesne snap its 11-game skid, leading the Dukes to back-to-back league victories. The guard from Wheeling, W.Va. averaged 16.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest, shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the arc. Bordas excelled in a 67-55 win over Loyola Chicago on Wednesday, pouring in 19 points while knocking down three triples.
