WASHINGTON – The second-seeded Saint Louis Billikens secured the 2025 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship title with its 4-3 walk-off win over the third-seeded Fordham Rams. The Billikens won the program’s first ever softball title and will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Saint Louis faced an early one-run deficit to Fordham. The Billikens loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. Abby Mallo, the A-10 Co-Player of the Year, cleared the bases with a double for a 3-1 Billikens lead.
Fordham responded in the sixth to tie it at three. Mallory McClellan singled to center field to drive in Kate McGuire and Annie Sullivan for the tying runs.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Billikens loaded up the bases. Mallo, the Most Outstanding Player, once again delivered, this time the walk-off fielder’s choice. Karsen Jany scored for the game-winning, championship-clinching run.
Saint Louis starter Isabel Royle allowed three runs across seven innings. The All-Championship team pitcher struck out five and walked three. Fordham starter Holly Beeman surrendered four runs on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
The Billikens clinch an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA selection show is set for 7 p.m. on Sunday on ESPN2.
