ORLANDO – Loyola Chicago maintained its lead with a 616 (304-312) after the second round of the Inaugural Atlantic 10 Women’s Golf Championship, with Richmond and Dayton in second and third place Friday at Evermore Resort.
Cate Reisinger of Loyola Chicago held on to first place despite strong second rounds from her teammate Grace Hui and Richmond’s Hannah Lydic. Reisinger carded a 148 (72-76) to maintain the lead. Lydic’s one-under 71 on the second day was the best single-round score of the tournament to date, and gave her a 152 (81-71) to move into a tie for second with Hui (77-75) and Dayton’s Jenna Harter (75-77).
The Ramblers Madison Haugen joined Reisinger and Hui in the top 10, placing 10
th with a 159 (80-79).
Richmond improved by 13 strokes as a team to slide into second place with a 621 (317-304), spurred by Lydic’s 10-stroke improvement. Olivia Wilkie sits in fifth place with a 153 (75-78) and Maya Beasley shot a 155 (79-76) to tie for seventh for the Spiders.
Third-place Dayton has both Emma Sparling and Megan Yoder in the top 10 alongside Harter. Sparling recorded a 154 (77-77) to move into sixth, while Yoder is in the tie for seventh with a 155 (79-76). The Flyers are seven strokes behind Loyola and trail Richmond by two with a 623 (313-310).
Duquesne’s Sasha Petrochko also shot a 155 (80-75) to land in the thee-way tie for seventh, improving by five strokes over the first round. The Dukes are fourth in the team standings, followed by La Salle and Saint Joseph’s.
The three-round championship concludes Saturday, with the winner securing a bid to NCAA Regionals.
