Maggie Doogan Earns Third Under Armour #A10WBB Player of the Week Award; Rhian Stokes Takes Rookie Honors

WASHINGTON -- The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Richmond junior forward Maggie Doogan as its Under Armour Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. Saint Joseph's freshman Rhian Stokes was named the Under Armour Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played on February 17 - 23.

Doogan delivered a dominant performance in two crucial victories this week, leading Richmond to its 14th straight win and clinching the program’s second consecutive Atlantic 10 regular-season title for the first time in program history. The junior was unstoppable in Richmond’s 67-57 win over George Washington on Wednesday, pacing the Spiders with 26 points while shooting an efficient 9-of-12 (75%) from the field, while knocking down 4-of-6 (66.7%) from beyond the arc and was perfect from the free-throw line (4-of-4). The Broomall, Pa. native also contributed 11 rebounds for her 10th career double-double, three assists and a block. In Sunday’s 68-55 road win at VCU, Doogan tallied 33 points on 12-of-16 (75%) shooting, going 3-of-5 (60%) from three and a perfect 6-of-6 from the line. The now three-time Player of the Week, Doogan also grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists, and blocked two shots. For the week, Doogan averaged an A-10 best 29.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting a blistering 75% from the field to lead the A-10, 63.6% from three, and 100% from the free-throw line.
