WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Loyola Chicago junior Jayden Dawson the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. La Salle freshman Deuce Jones was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Feb. 10-16.
 
Dawson posted back-to-back 20-point performances over two Loyola wins this week. He averaged 25.0 points per game while shooting 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the field, 54.4 percent (12-for-22) from three, and perfect at the line. The guard from Omaha added 2.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 1.5 blocks per game. At Richmond, Dawson dropped 24 points in an OT win over the Spiders. He drained six threes and tallied two boards and two assists. Against Saint Louis, Dawson went 10-16 from the field with another six 3-pointers. He added three rebounds, three assists, a steal, and career-high three blocks. Dawson had one turnover over the two games, posting a 5.0 assist to turnover ratio.
 
Jones averaged 21.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.5 steals in two games last week for the Explorers, He tallied a career-high six steals and recorded a double-double at Rhode Island with 20 points and 11 rebounds, the first double-double by a La Salle freshman since Christian Ray in 2020. Jones, who claimed his sixth A-10 Rookie of the Week accolade, was 7-for-16 (.438) from the field versus the Rams. At Saint Joseph’s, he was 7-of-14 (.500) from the field and 8-for-9 (.889) at the line to finish with 22 points. He also added nine rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Reed Bailey recorded a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) in a win over UMass and dropped another 16 points in a loss to GW for his 12th-straight double-digit performance … Enoch Cheeks was Dayton's leading scorer (16.5 points per game) and rebounder (5.5) in a two-win week, shooting .692 (9-for-13) form the field and .824 (14-of-17) at the line and also averaged 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals …  Dayton freshman Amaël  L'Etang scored 11 points on a perfect shooting night at Fordham, hitting all three field goals, one 3-pointer and all four free throws … Jalen Haynes scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a George Mason win over Saint Joseph's, with 16 of those 22 points coming in the second half, during which the Patriots held a +12 scoring advantage and limited the Hawks to just 20 points …George Washington’s Rafael Castro had a pair of 20-point performances versus Davidson and VCU, his fifth and sixth 20-point games of the season, averaging 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 80 percent (12-of-15) from the floor and 73 percent (16-for-22) from the charity stripe … Sebastian Thomas averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while leading Rhode Island to a 2-0 week, including a game against St. Bonaventure, where Thomas scored all 15 of his points in the second half to lead the Rams to a comeback win, with four of his seven assists in the second half, the last of which led to the game-winning shot … Xzayvier Brown averaged 20 points per game for Saint Joseph’s with 21 with a win against La Salle and a team-high 19 points versus George Mason with a combined four 3-pointers and five steals over the two games … Saint Louis’ Robbie Avila scored a team-best 27 points in the win against George Mason with a career-high-tying five 3-pointers, followed by a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double against Loyola Chicago while also recording seven assists … VCU’s Jack Clark provided 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks in a road win at George Washington, including connecting on 4-of-7 (.571) from 3-point range
