WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Joseph’s senior Erik Reynolds II the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Dayton freshman Amaël L’Etang was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Feb. 3-9.
 
Reynolds netted 25 points and made five threes in the Hawks only game of the Week, a 76-63 win against Saint Louis on Friday. He shot 10-for-15 (.667) from the field, including a 5-for-9 (.556) effort from beyond the arc, adding two rebounds and a steal. The game was the 100th career contest in double figures for the guard from Temple Hills, Md., making him just the 10th active player to accomplish the feat and one of two to do it in four years, He also moved into third place on the SJU career scoring list, passing Bernard Blunt (1990-95).
 
L'Etang led Dayton to a win over Davidson with a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double. He also had two steals and two blocked shots, both team highs. He played 31 minutes versus Davidson, but was limited to 17 against VCU, with four points, three rebounds and two assists. For the week the forward form Toulouse, France averaged 8.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.

Reed Bailey averaged 21.5 ppg and 6.5 assists per game, including eight dimes at Dayton and 24 points versus Richmond … Davidson freshman Manie Jones didn’t’ miss a shot in two games for the ‘Cats, while also collecting two rebounds, two steals and a block with only one turnover … Nate Santos averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two Flyer games this week, with 13 points in a win over Davidson, and a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds against VCU …  Jalen Haynes averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in two wins for George Mason, hitting the go-ahead basket versus GW with less than a minute to play, then forced a miss and secured the rebound on the defensive end to secure the rivalry road win … Rafael Castro posted another pair of double-doubles in two games for George Washington this week, averaging 12.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists while shooting 73.3 percent from the floor … GW freshman Christian Jones led the charge against George Mason with 15 of his 17 points coming after halftime, making 8-of-16 from the field while dishing out three assists and swiping three steals, followed by phenomenal defense in GW's victory at St. Bonaventure, with four more steals and four rebounds … Des Watson averaged 15.5 points per game with helping Loyola to its largest A-10 win over St. Bonaventure with 17 points on 7-of-12 from the field with three from deep, and a career-high four steals … Rahsool Diggins fueled the Minutemen to a victory over La Salle, scoring 34 points on 13-of-20 (.650) shooting from the field, including 7-of-13 (.538) from 3-point range, marking his fourth game with 30-plus points this season … Sebastian Thomas averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals over two games for Rhode Island … David Fuchs added 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game to the Rhody effort in two games last week … Xzayvier Brown scored 20 points, pulled in nine rebounds and added five assists in a win against Saint Louis. He shot 7-for-14 from the field, made a trio of three-pointers and came away with two steals. It was his seventh game this season with 20 or more points … Saint Louis’ Kobe Johnson led the Billikens with 16.0 points per game last week. He tallied a career-high 21 points in the Saint Joseph's game.
