WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named George Mason junior Kory Mincy the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. VCU freshman Nyk Lewis was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Dec. 15-21.
 
Mincy tallied a game-high 26 points, dished out four assists and added two steals in George Mason's Sunday win over Loyola (Md.). The East Point, Ga., guard also made 2-of-4 3-point attempts and 10-of-11 free throws on the day. Mincy wrapped up his school record for consecutive free throws with No. 48 on Sunday before a late miss.
 
Lewis averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals in two wins. The Washington, D.C., guard shot .417 (5-of-12) from 3-point range. He recorded first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds versus Niagara. He added 14 points with six assists and a trio of steals versus American.

Roberts Blums rang up 14 points with five rebounds for Davidson versus Temple … Davidson freshman Ian Platteeuw had nine points and six rebounds for the Wildcats versus the owls … Javon Bennett had two big games with 25 points, two assists and two steals in Dayton’s win over Florida State and 17 points with five rebounds against Liberty while combining for a perfect 16-for-16 from the line in the two games … La Salle’s Jaeden Marshall averaged 18.5 points per game last week with 22 points versus High Point and 15 against No. 2 Michigan, sinking 18-of-19 (.947) of his free throws in the two games … Kayde Dotson began the week with 13 points for Loyola Chicago versus San Francisco before exploding for a 26-point performance in a win over Santa Clara, including swishing five threes … Jonah Hinton scored 20 points with eight rebounds and two assists in Rhode Island’s victory over Canisius … Richmond’s A.J. Lopez averaged 14.5 points on .611 (11-of-18) shooting to lead the Spiders to a 1-1 week … Frank Mitchell had 21 points and nine rebounds, making 7-of-10 (.700) from the field in St. Bonaventure’s final non-conference game against Le Moyne … Saint Joseph’s freshman Austin Williford tallied 14 points with six rebounds and five steals to help lead the Hawks past Delaware State … Dion Brown had two strong games to lead Saint Louis to a pair of wins, with 16 points on .778 (7-of-9) shooting, five rebounds and five assists versus Bethune-Cookman and 15 points and nine rebounds against New Hampshire  … Saint Louis freshman Jax Kerr had nine rebounds to go with six points in the Bethune-Cookman gam
