WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named St. Bonaventure senior Frank Mitchell the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Dayton freshman Malcolm Thomas was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Dec. 8-14.
 
Mitchell averaged 23.0 points and 16.5 rebounds over two games and combined for 46 points and 32 rebounds in two games. A forward from Toronto, Ontario, he shot a combined 58.8 percent (20-for-34) from the field in the split week. He had 19 points and a season-best 18 rebounds in a win over Colgate, the best rebounding performance in the Atlantic 10 this season. Mitchell then added a career-best 27 points versus Ohio, while shooting 60 percent from the field (12-for-20) and grabbing 15 rebounds. His 12 made field goals were also the most in a single game by any Atlantic 10 player this season, and 20 of his combined 32 rebounds on the week were on the offensive end, including a season-best 11 against Colgate.
 
Thomas had a strong showing for the Flyers this week, scoring a career-high 14 points on 7-of-8 (.875) shooting from the floor in just 14 minutes of action. The forward also had four blocks, one rebound and one assist in Dayton's victory over North Florida.

Parker Friedrichsen had 13 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals in Davidson’s win over Mercyhurst  … Davidson freshman Nick Coval was nearly perfect from the field, shooting 4-of-5 (.800) to tally 10 points against Mercyhurst … De’Shayne Montgomery had 23 points and an incredible 9-of-10 (.900) shooting and 4-for-4 from 3-point range with four steals in Dayton’s win over North Florida … Rikus Schulte had back-to-back double-doubles for Fordham, including registering 14 boards versus FDU and 21 points in a win over rival Manhattan … George Mason’s Riley Allenspach was on fire in the first half of the win over ODU, setting a record by scoring the team's first 17 points, starting a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor and finished with a career-best 26 points … Keeyan Itejere had a double-double, scoring 11 points to go with 10 rebounds in against McNeese State, registering two blocks with a 7-for-7 effort at the line  … Aiden Argabright had 18 points with three assists on 4-of-6 (.667) shooting in Richmond’s win over SIU… Jiaden Glover-Toscano had 25 points in the Hawks win over Coppin State, followed by a near double-double (14 points, nine rebounds) versus Syracuse … Dion Brown had a 14-point, 11-rebounds double-double in a resume win for Saint Louis, hitting 6-of-8 (.750) from the field … VCU freshman Nyk Lewis scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed three rebounds against New Mexico, connecting on 5-of-11 attempts from the field, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range.
