WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has named George Mason redshirt junior Zahirah Walton as the Under Armour Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Duquesne freshman Alexis Bordas was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from Nov. 24-30.

Walton put together a stellar week, averaging 24.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the field. A forward from Seattle, Wash., Walton started Feast Week with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists in a 72-54 home win over Rider at EagleBank Arena. Heading to Florida for the Daytona Beach Classic, Walton nearly George Mason to victory on Friday afternoon against Murray State, scoring 42 points on 65.2 percent shooting in the narrow neutral-site loss. She continued her strong stretch against No. 13 Ole Miss on Saturday, recording 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists in a loss to the Rebels.

Bordas earned her second A-10 Rookie of the Week accolade, continuing her strong freshman campaign by averaging 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game across three contests last week. The guard from Wheeling, W.Va. opened the slate with 11 points in a 58-53 home victory over Kent State. Competing in the Navy Classic in Annapolis, Md., Bordas led the Dukes with 23 points in a 67-60 loss to Liberty on Saturday, knocking down five 3-pointers. She closed Feast Week with an 18-point showing at Navy, collecting five rebounds and two steals in a thrilling 69-67 overtime triumph.

Dayton’s Ajok Madol averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals across two games at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, including 17 points, four assists, and four steals against Butler and nine points in a one-point victory over Kansas … George Washington guard Gabby Reynolds averaged 22.5 points and 4.0 assists per game, posting a career-high 27 points against Miami before tallying 18 points in a win over Charlotte to secure a spot on the Cayman Islands Classic All-Tournament Team … George Mason’s Zahirah Walton averaged 20.5 points on 47.1 percent shooting with 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game across two contests … Loyola Chicago’s Brooklyn Vaughn delivered a strong performance in the Ramblers’ 61-49 win over DePaul, recording 15 points, nine rebounds, and three steals … Ramblers freshman Alex-Anne Bessette co-led the team with 16 points in the win over DePaul, shooting 7-of-11 from the field … Richmond’s Maggie Doogan averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across two games, including a 25-point performance in the Spiders’ win over Green Bay on Saturday … Spiders rookie Ava Persichetti scored seven points while recording two assists in the victory against Green Bay … St. Bonaventure’s Laycee Drake averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 1.7 assists per game across three matchups, pouring in 23 points against Cleveland State to go along with six steals … Bonnies redshirt freshman Brianna Barr-Buday averaged 9.3 points and 2.7 rebounds across three games, chipping in a career-high 16 points on a 7-of-8 shooting day against Valparaiso … Saint Louis freshman Jahda Denis averaged 13.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game across two games at the Music City Classic, scoring 11 points in the Billikens’ win against ACC opponent SMU and 15 points in a loss to Stetson.
