WASHINGTON – Dayton won its fifth regular season title in the last six years and its third straight with a perfect 18-0 record, and will be the top seed for the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Volleyball Championship, which begins Friday at VCU’s Stuart C. Siegel Center.
The Flyers were 23-6 overall. UD lost just 10 sets in conference play in earning their 18
th Atlantic 10 regular season title. They earn a bye through Friday’s first round and into Saturday’s semifinals. Dayton, which has won eight of the last 11 A-10 titles, enters the championship having won 20 of its last 21 matches. The Flyers are led by Kamryn Hunt, who is second in the A-10 in kills (4.00) and points per set (4.47). Karissa Kaminski registers 4.49 digs per set, to rank second in the A-10, while and Abigail Creese and Liana Sarkissian lead UD with 1.20 and 1.01 blocks per set respectively.
Loyola Chicago will be the number two seed and claim the other quarterfinal bye. The defending champion Ramblers finished the regular season at 15-15 overall and 12-6 in the league. Loyola will be aiming for third Atlantic 10 title since joining the conference in 2022. Kaitlyn Burke leads LUC and is seventh in the A-10 in kills per set (3.20) and Avary DeBlieck’s 1.39 blocks per set is second best in the league. The Ramblers earn the second seed by virtue of a set-score tiebreaker with George Washington and VCU, which were also 12-6
GW, finishing with an 12-6 record in the A-10, will be the No. 3 seed for the championship and will face No. 6 Duquesne Friday in the second quarterfinal at 3:30 pm ET. The Dukes finished the season at 9-9 in league play and 17-12 overall. The GW/Duquesne winner plays VCU at 2:30 pm ET on Saturday in the semifinals.
Host VCU drew the fourth seed and a quarterfinal matchup with No. 5 George Mason at 1:00 pm ET on Friday. The Rams wrapped up league play with a 12-6 mark and were 14-12 overall. The Patriots were 10-8 in the A-10 and 17-12 overall. The VCU/George Mason winner will face Dayton in the semifinals at noon pm ET Saturday.
The championship final will be played at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 23 with an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
