WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference named George Mason graduate student Jacobo Sanfeliu the Under Armour Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while Saint Louis graduate student Jeremi Abonnel earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Rhode Island freshman Kyler Vojvodic was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from Sep. 29 - Oct. 5.

Sanfeliu, a forward from Barcelona, Spain, scored the lone goal of George Mason’s road match at George Washington, lifting the Patriots to a 1-0 victory. The goal came in the 60th minute of play, a right footed laser that found the corner of the net. Sanfeliu has been one of the top scoring threats in the A-10 this season, ranking tied for first in the league in points (12) and game-winners (2).

Abonnel, came up big in a scoreless draw against Dayton on Saturday. The goalkeeper from Aix-en-Provence, France made a season-high tying five saves, including several dazzling rejections that helped preserve his sixth clean sheet of the season. Abonnel is currently tied for first in the A-10 with six shutouts this year, holding opponents to a .636 goals against average.

Vojvodic, a forward/midfielder from Post Coquitlam, Canada, factored in all three Rhode Island goals last week, leading the Rams to a 1-0-1 mark. Rallying Rhode Island from a pair of one-goal deficits, Vojvodic scored both goals in the Rams’ 2-2 tie with Stony Brook on Tuesday, before contributing an assist for the lone goal of a 1-0 victory at St. Bonaventure.
