WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Davidson junior Reed Bailey as Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Dayton freshman Amaël L’etang was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Jan. 20-26.
 
The league's leading scorer recorded his sixth and seventh straight 20+ point performances during a split week for the Wildcats. Bailey scored a career high with 32 pts during a win at Richmond. He shot 11-for-17 (.647) from the floor and 4-4 from beyond the arc in the win. Earlier in the week the forward from Harvard, Mass., dropped 25 points on 10-of-23 (.435) with five rebounds and three assists versus Saint Joseph’s. He averaged 28.5 points on 21-40 (.525) shooting and 5-for-8 (.625) from 3-point range in the two games.
 
L'Etang had two double-digit games in Dayton’s two wins this week, scoring 16 points at Duquesne and 14 versus Saint Joseph's. The seven-foot forward from Toulouse, France, averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting .522 (12-of-23) from the field and .333 (4-for-12) from 3-point range for the week. He had four rebounds and one assists at Duquesne, followed by six rebounds and two assists against Saint Joseph’s.

Nate Santos was 7-for-8 from 3-point range to lead Dayton to two wins, matching his season high of 24 points while grabbing eight rebounds against Saint Joseph's …  Zach Anderson tallied 17 points on 6-of-9 (.667) in George Mason's win at St. Bonaventure, including 5-of-8 (.625) 3-point attempts to lead the Patriots to their first in the Reilly Center since 2004 … George Washington’s Rafael Castro recorded a pair of 20-point games, averaging 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds 81.8 percent (18-22) from the field, leading all scorers in both contests  …  GW freshman Christian Jones posted a pair of double-digit efforts, averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 47.4 percent (9-of-19) from the floor and 50 percent (3-for-6) from 3-point range … La Salle freshman Deuce Jones scored in double digits twice last week, averaging 11.5 points per game to extend his double-digit scoring streak to five games, and he also tied his career-high with three steals versus Saint Louis … Sheldon Edwards, Jr. led Loyola Chicago with 13 points, shooting 50 percent (5-for-10) from the field, adding a career-high seven assists and season-best three steals versus Fordham … Jaylen Curry recorded 19 points, six assists and four rebounds to lead Massachusetts past George Washington, shooting 7-of-15 (.467) … Sebastian Thomas averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists over two games for Rhode Island … Rhody’s Jaden House averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds versus VCU and at La Salle … Xzayvier Brown averaged 19.0 points and 5.5 assists, scoring 20 points with six assists to lead the Hawks to their first win at Davidson since 1971 ... Robbie Avila led the Billikens in scoring with 17.0 points per game last week, including 21 points in the win over La Salle, while adding eight rebounds and five assists versus the Explorers.… Joe Bamisile averaged 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists, while shooting .567 (17-of-30) from the field in a pair of VCU wins, including 24 points at Rhode Island and a career-high six assists versus St. Bonaventure.
