WASHINGTON – Loyola Chicago, the back-to-back Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country champions, were voted as the early favorite, according to the A-10’s Preseason Poll that was released Wednesday morning.

Loyola Chicago was the clear favorite amongst its conference opponents receiving 13 first place selections and 222 points overall. La Salle is projected for second with 205 points and the final two first place votes. Massachusetts received a No. 3 spot with 177 points and George Mason in fourth with 171 points.
George Washington (170), Saint Louis (157), Saint Joseph’s (123), and Rhode Island (118) round out the top eight spots in the preseason poll, in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth spots, respectively. Dayton (108) and Richmond (100) earned the ninth and tenth spots, respectively, to round out the top 10.
Fordham (80), Duquesne (60), Davidson (46), VCU (42), and St. Bonaventure (21) complete the preseason poll.
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country season began on Aug. 30. The season ends at the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships, which is slated for Saturday Nov. 2 at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va hosted by Richmond.
