BRONX, N.Y. -- Top-seeded Dayton kept No. 2 Saint Louis from cross home plate Saturday to win the Flyers first Atlantic 10 Softball Championship.

Sarah Bailitz threw six innings of two-hit ball, stiking out nine, and Izzy Kemp closed the win out with two strikeouts in one inning of work. Molly Grace led UD at the plate with two hits and two RBI.

Dayton came out swinging, scoring two runs in the first inning as Emma Schutter led off with a single, Kirnan Bailey reached on an error and Maddie Kapsimalis singled to right to load the bases with no outs. A Chloe Wong RBI groundout and Molly Grace single plated the first two runs and gave the Flyers all the runs they would need.

Grace came through again in the sixth with a RBI single to give the Flyers their final three run lead.

Chloe Wong was named the championship's Most Outstanding Player after going 6-for-8 on the weekend with three runs and five RBIs.

Dayton (33-19) will advance to the NCAA Regionals via the Atlantic 10 automatic bid. The Flyers will find out where they are headed Sunday evening at 7 PM with the show airing on ESPN2.
