BRONX, NY -- No. 2 Saint Louis used a four run third inning and held off a late UMass rally to defeat the No. 5 Minutewomen 5-3 and advance to play No. 3 Loyola Chicago tonight for a spot in tomorrow's championship.

The Billikens started the scoring in the second inning with Cami Newbanks reaching on a leadoff single, a sac bunt and wild pitch advancing her to third and a Kelsey Etling sacrifice fly plating the games first run.

The next inning was where the Billikens broke it open, and all with two outs. Natalie Sullivan started the rally off with a walk before Jane Kaniecki and Kelsey Etling singled to extend the lead to 2-0. A Chloe Rhine two run double broke it open and made it 4-0 Saint Louis.

UMass would not go away, scoring two in the sixth on a Grace Cadden single and Saint Louis error. After an hour long rain delay, play resumed in the top of the sixth and saw another Minutewomen rally in the seventh inning as singles by Chloe Whittier and Bella Pantoja set the table. UMass would ultimately get one across but with the tying run on first base and two outs, Saint Louis right fielder Abby Mallo made a nice play on a line drive to silence the threat and move the Billikens onto the nightcap.

Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Isabel Royle was tremendous in the circle for Saint Louis pitching a complete game and only allowing one run. The freshman struck out six, picking up her 14th win of the season.
