WASHINGTON – Massachusetts secured the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title and will serve as the No. 1 overall seed entering next week’s A-10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship at their home turf at Garber Field in Amherst, Mass. The six-team, single-elimination tournament begins Thursday, May 2 and will conclude with the championship final on Sunday, May 5, all streamed live via ESPN+.

The Minutewomen wrapped up the 2024 campaign on an 11-game winning streak to finish the season at a league-best 12-4, cementing the program’s 12th straight regular-season title and 15th overall. This marks the fifth-straight season that the Minutewomen have finished A-10 play undefeated, having not lost a regular season conference game since 2018. UMass receives a bye into the semifinals and will open championship play Friday, May 3 at noon.

In addition to Massachusetts, second-seeded Richmond (11-5) garnered an opening round bye into the semifinals with a 7-2 record against Atlantic 10 competition. The Spiders hold the tiebreaker over Davidson (7-2), due to a head to head win over the Wildcats on April 16. The Spiders will see their first action of the championship at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Davidson (10-6) earned the third overall seed behind their best ever record in league play at 7-2. The Wildcats will face No. 6 George Mason (10-7, 4-5 A-10) at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 in the opening round; the victor will battle No. 2 Richmond in Friday’s late semifinal matchup. The Patriots earn the six-seed via a head-to-head win against St. Bonaventure (4-5 A-10) on April 13.

Saint Joseph's (10-6) slotted in as the No. 4 overall seed behind a 6-3 record within the A-10, and will square off against fifth overall VCU (5-13, 4-5 A-10) at noon on Thursday for the right to challenge the top-seeded Minutewomen in the semifinals.

The Rams locked down the No. 5 seed via a three-way tie breaker with George Mason and St. Bonaventure. The group of three was 1-1 against eachother so the tiebreaker procedure moved to a win over the highest-common opponent. VCU's win over Richmond on April 20 gave them the five seed.

The winner of the Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which opens Friday, May 10.
