Billikens Tierra Simon, Bonnies Zoe Shaw Secure #A10WBB Weekly Laurels

WASHINGTON -- The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Louis senior Tierra Simon as its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. St. Bonaventure freshman Zoe Shaw was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week, the second-straight honor for a Bonnies rookie. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played December 16 - 22.

Simon had back-to-back double-doubles this week, and has three consecutive. The Houston, Texas native averaged 14.0 points per game and grabbed 15.5 rebounds per game while playing 31.1 minutes. The senior's week was highlighted in the game over Bellarmine where she matched her career-high with 16 points and had a career-high and A-10 best 17 rebounds.  Shaw averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 37.0 minutes per contest over two games last week, helping the Bonnies to a win over Niagara. Tuesday against the Purple Eagles, the Melbourne, Australia registered 17 points to go along with five rebounds, finishing 8-for-9 from the free throw line. Saturday at Robert Morris, Shaw tallied a team-high 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Shaw's teammate, Caitlin Frost was named the Rookie of the Week last week.  HONOR ROLL

La Salle's Ashleigh Connor averaged a team-high 13 points across two games, scoring eight in the final three minutes in a 70-67 win over Northern Kentucky ... Explorers rookie Joan Quinn scored a career-high 18 points in La Salle's 70-67 win over Northern Kentucky at the UCSD Winter Classic ... Loyola Chicago's Sitori Tanin averaged 16.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game and was 11-of-21 (52-percent) from the field in two Rambler wins ... St. Bonaventure's Nadechka Laccen averaged 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over two games last week ...
