WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Joseph’s senior Erik Reynolds II its Men's Basketball Player of the Week. La Salle freshman Deuce Jones chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Dec. 16-22.
 
Reynolds averaged 24.0 points per game and shot 56.3 percent (18-for-32) from the field during a 2-0 week for the Hawks. He stuffed the stat sheet on Saturday against Virginia Tech with 25 points, three assists, a block and two steals as the Hawks won by 20. Earlier in the week, the guard from Temple Hills, Md., tallied 23 with six assists against American, shooting 8-for-13 from the floor. During the two games, he had nine assists and only one turnover and connected on 8-of-18 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Jones led La Salle's comeback against FDU, as the freshman scored nine straight points late to give the Explorers the 77-72 victory. Jones scored 23 points and added nine rebounds against the Knights and averaged a team-high 16 points for the Explorers throughout the week. A guard from Trenton, N.J., he added nine points in limited action in a rout of Immaculata, helping La Salle finish the non-conference slate with a perfect 6-0 record at the new John Glaser Arena.

Malachi Smith scored the last five points over the last 37 seconds in Dayton’s come-from-behind win over UNLV on Tuesday, scoring 11 points in the UNLV game, and 13 points against Cincinnati … Dayton freshman Amaël L'Etang scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in 16 minutes against UNLV … Jalen Haynes opened George Mason’s week with a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds at No. 5/5 Duke followed by a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds versus Penn … Patriots rookie Justin Begg tallied 10 points in the victory over Penn, making 3-of-5 (.600) field goal attempts and 2-of-3 (.667) triples while notching an assist, block and a steal … George Washington’s Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. dropped a career-high 30 points on versus Lafayette, making 10-of-15 (.667) from the floor and 6-of-11 (.545) from beyond the arc, the first 30-point game with six threes in the A-10 this season … GW freshman Dayan Nessah scored 19 points in the second half against UVA Wise, making 8-of-9 (.888) shots and 3-of-4 (.750) 3-pointers, adding three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 16 minutes of action … Sheldon Edwards Jr.  averaged 21.0 points per game on 50.0 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from 3-point range for the Loyola Chicago, adding 3.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game … Sebastian Thomas recorded his second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 assists in Rhode Island's  win over Temple, hitting a 3-pointer and getting fouled for a four-point play to win the game … Rhode Island’s Javonte Brown scored a career-high 21 points on 9-of-11 (.818) shooting and had a season-high 10 rebounds, his first double-double of. the season … Richmond’s Dusan Neskovic recorded a pair of 20-point games, his first two of the season for the Spiders in a split week… Chance Moore averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in two St. Bonaventure wins, with a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds in win at Siena.
