No. 1 Saint Louis Tops No. 5 Saint Joseph's 2-0 to Advance to Seventh-Straight #A10WSOC Title Game

SAINT LOUIS, MO – Saint Louis women’s soccer advanced to its seventh straight Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Championship final with a 2-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday. The No.1 seeded Billikens will face No. 3 Massachusetts in the title game.  

Saint Louis jumped to an early lead on a first half goal by Julia Simon with assists from Lucie Schwartz and Hope Kim. The Billikens added an insurance goal in the second half by Emily Gaebe. The A-10 Offensive Player of the Year received assists from Elise Le and Hannah Larson.  

The Billikens were powered by a forceful offense that took 22 shots and 12 shots on goal. Saint Joseph’s goalkeeper, the Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year Katie Cappelletti made nine saves and allowed two goals. SLU goalkeeper Emily Puricelli netted two saves. 

Saint Louis and Massachusetts will meet in the A-10 Championship game at 12 p.m. CST on Sunday at Saint Louis. The Billikens are looking to win their seventh consecutive A-10 Championship title.
