George Mason Wins First Ever Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Regular Season Title; Clinch Top Seed For Championship

WASHINGTON -- For the first time ever, George Mason won the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Regular Season Title and will be the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Men's Soccer Championship. The eight-team, single-elimination tournament begins Friday, Nov. 8 and with on-campus quarterfinal action, all streamed live via ESPN+.

The Patriots had a historic 2024 season, finishing Atlantic 10 play at 6-1-1 with a 12-3-1 record overall. George Mason posted six regular season victories in conference play for the first time since joining the league in 2013. After starting a perfect 4-0 in A-10 play, George Mason clinched their first regular season title in any sport on Saturday night with a draw at VCU, giving them 19 points. George Mason will face No. 8 La Salle on Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET. La Salle finished their conference slate at 3-3-2 for 11 points and stand at 6-7-4 overall.

Ranked 15th in the nation, Dayton earns the No. 2 seed for the Atlantic 10 Championship with a 5-1-2 record in conference play for 17 points and a 10-2-3 record overall. The Flyers have won five games in a row heading into the postseason, including a win over at the time No. 1 West Virginia and have a win at Indiana and a tie against No. 9 Western Michigan. Dayton will face No. 7 Davidson who went an even 4-4 in conference play for 12 points and 6-6-5 overall. The Flyers and Wildcats will play on Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Massachusetts will be the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship with 16 points at 5-2-1. The Minutemen earn the third seed over Duquesne via a head-to-head win on October 26. UMass stands at 10-3-4 overall, winning 10 games for the first time since 2017 and has won four games in a row to end the season. The Minutemen will face No. 6 Saint Louis, who ended with 15 points off a 4-1-3 record in conference play. The Billikens stand at 7-3-7 overall and have a win over Indiana. UMass and Saint Louis will face off on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Duquesne will host a quarterfinal match, garnering the No. 4 seed with a 5-2-1 conference record for 16 points. The Dukes stand at 11-3-2 overall and just faced their Quarterfinal opponent on Saturday night, playing to a 1-1 draw. Fordham will be the No. 5 seed with a 4-1-3 record for 15 points, earning the tiebreaker over No. 6 Saint Louis due to a better record against common opponents. Duquesne and Fordham will wrap up the Quarterfinal round on Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Following the conclusion of quarterfinals, pairings will be re-seeded heading into the Nov. 13 semifinals, which the two highest remaining seeds will host. The winner of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Championship will be determined with the A-10 Championship Final at the highest seed’s home site at noon on Nov. 17. The winner of the that game will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
