Fleming Named A-10 Player of the Week; L’Etang Selected for Rookie Honors

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Joseph’s junior Rasheer Fleming as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Dayton freshman Amaël L’Etang chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Nov. 18-24.
 
Fleming averaged 15.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game on his way to being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Legends Classic. In the championship game against Texas, he matched the NCAA Division I season-high with 20 rebounds, also scoring 16 for his fifth career double-double. In a win against #RV/24 Texas Tech on Thursday, Fleming had 14 points and seven rebounds. For the week, the forward from Camden, N.J., shot 54.5 percent (12-for-22) from the floor and added four steals and two blocks.
 
L'Etang scored 11 points in 13 minutes off the bench in the New Mexico State win. He made four of six field goal attempts (4-for-4 inside the arc), and was 3-of-5 from the line. The forward from Toulouse, France, had three rebounds, an assists and a blocked shot.

Reed Bailey dropped 23 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six assists in a 93-66 win over VMI … Davidson freshman Roberts Blums scored six points off 2-of-6 (.333)shooting from beyond the arc … Dayton’s Nate Santos Sants led UD to a win over New Mexico State with a game-high 23 points and team-high eight rebounds, scoring 18 points in the second half on 5-of-6 3-pointers after the break … Woody Newton averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two wins for the Patriots including career highs for points (26) and 3-pointers made (6) while going 9-of-12 (.750) from the floor … George Washington’s Darren Buchanan, Jr. averaged 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals in GW's 2-1 week that included wins over NJIT and Louisiana … GW freshman Christian Jones averaged 6.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals, earning his first career start on Monday vs. NJIT … Des Watson averaged 15.5 points per game on 43.5 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from 3-point range over a two-win week for the Ramblers, not committing a single turnover while averaging 3.5 assists per game … Rhode Island’s Sebastian Thomas led Rhode Island to a 2-0 week, averaging 19.0 points, 9.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game with his first double-double of the year, (15 points, 10 assists) and he had a 3.8-1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the week … Rhody freshman Tyonne Farrell had eight points and two boards against Lafayette, then had nine points and four rebounds against College of Charleston … Noel Brown had a career-high 22 points plus seven rebounds and a block on 9-for-11 (.818) from the field in the S.t Bonaventure win over Bryant … Max Shulga averaged 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game, while shooting .472 (17-of-36) from the field in three games at the Charleston Classic.
