MADISON, Wis. – The La Salle cross country teams will have two players competing in the NCAA DI Cross Country Championships Saturday morning, which is hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The races will be televised on ESPNU, with coverage beginning at 9:30 a.m. The women's 6k race will start at 10:20 a.m., and the men's 10k race will follow at 11:10 a.m. It can also be followed on X @LaSalle_XCTF and on Instagram @lasalle_tfxc.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
- Gwenno Goode will be representing the La Salle women's cross country team Saturday, having secured an individual berth in the regional meet last Friday.
- In the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet, Goode ran a 19:51.1 6k and finished in seventh place. It was a personal best for her by 18 seconds.
- She earned All-Region honors for her performance.
- This is Goode's first time competing in the NCAA XC Championship meet.
- MacCallum Rowe will be the men's lone runner for La Salle, also securing his spot with an individual berth from the regional meet last week.
- Rowe got a one-second PR in the 10k event, finishing in fifth place with a time of 29:39.5.
- Rowe also received All-Region honors following his race.
- This is Rowe's second time running in the NCAA XC Championships, as he ran it last year. In that race, he ran the 10k in 31:11.4 to get 160th place.
