WASHINGTON – Dayton won its fourth regular season title in the last five years and its second straight with a perfect 18-0 record and will be the top seed for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship, which begins Friday at Dayton’s Frericks Center.

th in the latest AVCA Poll, finished the regular season with a nearly perfect 28-1 overall mark. UD lost just two sets in conference play in earning their 17
th Atlantic 10 regular season title. They earn a bye through Friday’s first round and into Saturday’s semifinals. Dayton, which has won eight of the last 10 A-10 titles including last year, enters the championship having won 21 straight matches. UD is led by Lexie Almodovar, who leads the A-10 in kills per set (4.92) and points per set (5.59). Alyssa Miller registers 10.85 assists per set, to lead the league and Alayna Yates is second in hitting percentage (.389) and fifth in blocks (1.03). Liana Sarkissian lead Dayton and is third in blocks in the A-10 with 1.16.
VCU will be the number two seed and claim the other quarterfinal bye. The Rams finished the regular season at 18-8 overall and 16-2 in the league. VCU’s only blemish came against Dayton. The Rams will be aiming for their first Atlantic 10 title since 2017. Julia Rienks leads VCU and is fifth in the A-10 in kills per set (3.33) and Jasmine Knight’s .376 hitting percentage is the third best in the league.
Loyola Chicago, finishing with an 13-5 record in the A-10, will be the No. 3 seed for the championship and will face No. 6 Saint Louis Friday in the second quarterfinal at 3:30 pm ET. The Ramblers, who last won an A-10 title in 2022, were 18-11 overall. Saint Louis finished the season at 6-12 in league play and 11-19. The Loyola/SLU winner plays VCU at 3:30 pm ET on Saturday in the semifinals.
Davidson drew the fourth seed and a quarterfinal matchup with No. 5 George Washington at 1:00 pm ET on Friday. The Wildcats wrapped up league play with a 11-7 mark and were 15-14 overall. The Revolutionaries were 9-9 in the A-10 and 19-12 overall. The Davidson/GW winner will face Dayton in the semifinals at 1:00 pm ET Saturday.
The championship final will be played at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 24 with an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
