WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named St. Bonaventure senior Chance Moore its Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Rhode Island freshman Tyonne Farrell was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards, which are the first of the season, were announced Monday and are for games played Nov. 4-10.
Moore averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 57.7 percent from the floor in two Bonnies wins top open the season. He scored 27 points, with six rebounds, three blocks and two steals and went 9-13 (.692) from the floor in a win at rival Canisius Saturday. The performance followed an 18-point, nine rebound, three assists, and two steal outing in a season-opening victory versus CSUN Monday.
Farrell averaged 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in a pair of URI wins in the opening week. A forward from Baltimore, Farrell had 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds in his collegiate debut against Fairfield. He shot .600 from the field (6-for-10) and was 3-for-3 at the free throw line while making his only 3-point attempt on the week.
