WASHINGTON -- The Atlantic 10 Conference named Fordham graduate student Abby Borchers  its Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. A pair of Dayton teammates, junior Batoul Reda and freshman Laney Smith, earned Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors. The awards are for games played Oct. 14 - 20 and was announced on Monday.

Borchers was outstanding in a 2-0 week for the Rams, scoring three goals to go with an assist. The Fresno, Calif. native was credited with the game-winning goal in both contests against George Washington and St. Bonaventure. After scoring on a header on Thursday, Borchers had two goals and an assist at St. Bonaventure on Sunday, helping Fordham clinch a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time since 2019.

Reda recorded her eighth and ninth shutout wins of the season this week, including her fifth in Atlantic 10 Conference play, as Dayton's primary goalkeeper. The Dearborn, Mich. native worked all 180 minutes between the posts this week, extending her consecutive minutes-played streak to 2,270 minutes. The junior collected a total of five saves to zero goals against as the Flyers maintain sole possession of first place in A-10 standings.

Smith led the Dayton offense in a 2-0 week in Atlantic 10 play with a goal and an assist. The Fort Thomas, Ky. native recorded her first career assist on Thursday in Dayton's 2-0 win over La Salle and followed that with the game-winning goal against VCU on Sunday. For the season, the freshman has recorded 15 points on seven goals and one assist. This is the second week in a row Smith has earned Rookie of the Week honors.
