NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade announced Tuesday that Natalie Rogers from American University has been named Associate Commissioner.

Rogers will join the A-10 championships staff overseeing several Olympic sport championships. She will also serve as the league’s Senior Women’s Administrator (SWA), liaison to the A-10 Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and participate on the senior leadership team for policy, procedure, and conference operations.

“We’re excited to welcome Natalie to the A-10. Her experience and accomplishments in sports administration at the NCAA, USTA and on campus bring a wealth of experience to the conference office staff. In addition, her leadership, passion and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives will complement our A-10 Commission and SWA work,” stated McGlade. “I look forward to her joining the staff and having an immediate impact.”

Rogers joins the Atlantic 10 from American where she has served as Associate Athletic Director and SWA. Administratively she oversaw several sport programs and led the department in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through the development of educational seminars, support and programming for student-athletes, coaches and staff, DEI was recognized as a core area of importance at AU. Natalie began at American in 2020 as the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Well Being with sport oversight, and was promoted into her current role in August of 2022.

“I am honored and grateful to Commissioner McGlade for this incredible opportunity to work for a conference whose mission aligns with my values,” said Rogers. “I look forward to collaboratively working with our schools, coaches, staff and partners to provide a first-class experience that will benefit all of our student-athletes.  I’m eager and excited to join the Atlantic 10 with its rich history and strong values.”

Rogers also worked at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as a senior manager, working with member engagement, diversity, inclusion and net generation. She has a background in NCAA compliance and governance, having worked for the NCAA for 10 years, serving both as an associate director of amateurism certification and assistant director of enforcement.  Following her tenure at the NCAA, she was Howard University’s Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance, and she created Natalie Rogers Consulting, which worked with coaches and student-athletes on eligibility, recruiting, academics and other NCAA Compliance needs.

A graduate of the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University, Rogers is a former Michigan tennis student-athlete, and she spent several years coaching men’s and women’s tennis and teaching at the collegiate level. Her career has also included working in the corporate world as a business analyst for ATPCO, and consultant with Help Unlimited.
