NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference selected Saint Louis sophomore Patrick Clohisy as the league’s Baseball Player of the Week while George Washington junior Chris Kahler closed out a complete game to secure Pitcher accolades. For the Rookie honors, Richmond third baseman Jordan Jaffe along with VCU right-hander Zachary Peters each earned a share following competitive performances at the plate and on the mound, respectively. The awards were announced Monday following the conclusion of the ninth week of contests played April 10-16.

Hailing from St. Louis, Mo., slashed .526/.526/.632 as he paced Saint Louis offensively to a 4-0 week on the diamond, jacking a team-leading 10 hits for seven RBI with six runs scored and three stolen bases as the Billikens initially topped Southern Indiana before sweeping Saint Joseph's over the weekend. Notably, the sophomore outfielder posted a multi-hit game in all four contests, wrapping up the week behind an imposing 4-of-5 at the plate with three batted in and two scored himself in the series finale.

A product of Coral Springs, Fla., Kahler tossed a complete game in Sunday's rubber match victory over Fordham, lifting GW to the program's second series win of the season. The junior right-hander set down 10 batters on strikes while surrendering just two runs on five hits and a pair of walks, concluding the 9.0 innings of work with 127 total pitches.

Jaffe, a native of Calabasas, Calif., batted .467 off seven hits across 15 plate appearances, registering two doubles while blasting another three dingers with a walk and a hit-by-pitch as Richmond wrapped up the week at 2-2 with a series victory over UMass. The freshman hit all three homers during the three-game set against the Minutemen, one in each contest, with two earning a pair of RBI (Friday and Sunday) while the third served as a solo shot. Jaffe also collected a double against No. 7 Virginia, one of just four UR hits in the seven inning loss for the Spiders.

Peters, who hails from North Haven, Conn., composed 6.0 shutout innings as the Friday starter for VCU against George Mason, striking out eight en route to a W on a 5-0 Rams victory. The freshman right-hander scatterd three hits with one walk and one hit-by-pitch, garnering the eventual win off a clean 100 pitch count.
