NEW YORK (AP) Erik Reynolds II set the tone with a career-best 34 points to lead No. 10 overall Saint Joseph's over seventh-seeded George Washington 87-76 on Wednesday night in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

Win in hand, the Hawks continue their run into the quarterfinal round, taking on second-seeded Dayton on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. with a national broadcast via USA Network.

"We go into every game believing we can beat anybody," Reynolds said. "Just believing what we do, it's all about endurance. So no matter what adversity we face, we just go out and keep doing what we do."

Reynolds added six rebounds for St. Joe's (16-16) as well. Cameron Brown tacked on 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Lynn Greer III was 4-of-13 shooting, including 1-for-4 from distance, and went 5-for-8 from the line to finish with 14 points.

James Bishop led the Colonials (16-16) in scoring, finishing with 25 points and eight assists. Ricky Lindo Jr. added 20 points and 10 rebounds for George Washington. Brendan Adams tallied 14 points.

"I thought we jumped on them early, they came back," GW head coach Chris Caputo said. "[Erik] Reynolds is obviously a really, really good player. He's just very -- I think a combination between the way they utilize him and his abilities make it very, very difficult to defend him."
