NEW YORK (AP) Lynn Greer III had 22 points in Saint Joseph's 72-67 victory over Loyola Chicago on Tuesday in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

With the win, the Hawks advance to the second round of the A-10 Championship, squaring off against seventh-seeded George Washington on Wednesday afternoon on 5 p.m.

"You work on all the things all season long that put you in this position now, and not let the moment overwhelm you," Saint Joseph's head coach Billy Lange said. "We can feel the moment. Like, everybody knows it's do or die time. They know we're in the Barclays Arena. They know it's March Madness, but it can't take away from us doing the things that we work on consistently."

Greer added 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Hawks (15-16). Cameron Brown scored 16 points and added six rebounds. Christian Winborne shot 4-of-5 from the field and 8-for-9 from the line to finish with 16 points.

Philip Alston finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks for the Ramblers (10-21). Braden Norris added 13 points and eight assists for Loyola Chicago. Ben Schwieger also had 12 points.

"We never found a way to finish games throughout the year," Norris said. "That's a result of a lot of things that we never cleaned up and executed, which is on the players. We never got to the point where we were crisp on the game plan each and every possession. And that's what it takes to win championships."
