RHODE ISLAND VS. HARVARD- SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island advanced to the WNIT Super 16 and will face Ivy League member Harvard Thursday.
  • It's the second time this season the teams have faced. Harvard handed Rhody an 88-74 loss in the season opener at Lavietes Pavilion.
  • The Crimson are averaging 96.0 points per game in the WNIT. They defeated A-10 foe Massachusetts 89-87 last time out after handling Towson 103-63 in the opening round.
  • Rhody defeated Richmond in the final game of the Ryan Center 74-64. Sophomore Sophie Phillips led the way for the Rams, pouring in 20 points and shooting 6-of-9 from 3-point land.

BACK WHERE IT BEGAN

  • The last time Rhody faced Harvard was the 2022-23 season opener.
  • The Rams return to Lavietes Pavilion looking to redeem themselves after the loss that started their best season in program history.
  • After falling to the Crimson in the season-opener, the Rams went on a tear, winning their next nine in a row.
  • In the first meeting, junior Mayé Touré added a career-high 27 points. Junior Dolly Cairns (12) and freshman Ines Debroise (11) also hit double-figures in scoring.

SOPHIE P FOR THREE!

  • Rhode Island sophomore Sophie Phillips sits second all-time with her 72-made 3-pointers this season.
  • She needs 11 more 3-pointers to pass Charise Wilson (82) for the most in a single-season all-time.
  • Her six 3-pointers last time out match the second-most in a single game by a Ram.
  • She's scored in double figures 15 times this year, and has made three or more 3-pointers in 13 games.
  • Phillips averages almost six 3-point attempts a game this year after attempting only two total during her first year with the Rams.
  • Her 20-point performance against Richmond was the second of the season for the Greenwhich, N.Y. native.
