ST. LOUIS – Junior forward Emily Gaebe of the Saint Louis University women's soccer team is one of 15 semifinalists for the 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy, United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club announced Wednesday. The determination of the semifinalists was based on voting by NCAA Division I women's soccer coaches.

Awarded annually since 1967, the MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer. Gaebe is the second student-athlete in Saint Louis women's soccer history to earn a place on the semifinalists list, joining Lyndsey Heckel (2022).

Gaebe collected numerous accolades during Saint Louis' record-setting 2023 season. She was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region first team; was named Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year; earned A-10 first-team All-Conference plaudits for a second consecutive season; and was named to the A-10 Championship All-Tournament team. Gaebe was a two-time selection to the College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer national teams of the week, was the College Soccer News National Player of the Week for Oct. 9-15, and garnered A-10 Offensive Player of the Week honors twice.

Gaebe led the A-10 and ranked among the top 10 nationally with school records of 16 goals (fifth) and 41 points (sixth), and she tied for the conference lead with a career-high nine assists. Her team- and career-high five game-winning goals ranked 14th in the nation, and she set a career mark for game-winning assists (four). Gaebe finished the season second in goals (32), third in points (82), tied for seventh in game-winning assists (seven) and tied for ninth in assists (18) on the Saint Louis career lists.

Gaebe helped lead Saint Louis to a sixth consecutive A-10 Championship title; a sixth straight NCAA Championship appearance, including the program's first advancement to the round of 16; a fifth A-10 regular-season title in six years; and school records of 74 goals, 70 assists, 218 points and a +59 goal differential. The Billikens were third in the nation in goals per game (3.08) and points per game (9.08) and fifth in assists per game (2.92).

Three finalists for the award will be named Wednesday, Dec. 6. The 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet, where the women's and men's winners will be presented, will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis Friday, Jan. 5.
