PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Haley Gschrey lifted the second-seeded La Salle Explorers to the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship final with an overtime header in the 97th minute to defeat the third-seeded Dayton Flyers at McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday evening.

After 96 minutes of scoreless play, the Explorers got on the board first thanks to a set piece that snuck past the Flyer defense.

Though registering several scoring opportunities, including multiple dangerous chances in the final 10 minutes of action, Dayton was never able to break through La Salle's defense for the equalizer.

The Flyers finished with a dominant advantage in overall shots (21 to 9) and shots on goal (12 to 2), but were shut out for the fifth time this season.

It was a tightly called contest, as Dayton finished the match with 19 fouls and La Salle 18. La Salle's keeper Michela Auguadro made 12 saves in the contest, while Batoul Reda a save in 110 minutes of action.

With the victory, the Explorers head to St. Louis, Mo., to face the top-seeded Billikens in the Championship finale, held at SLU's Robert R. Hermann Stadium on Sunday at Noon CT.
