NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named La Salle senior Madison McCready its Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Saint Joseph's senior Katie Cappelletti earned Defensive Player of the Week. Dayton's Maddie Bowman and Loyola Chicago's Maggie Schmidt shared Co-Rookie of the Week accolades. The awards, announced Monday, are for games played Oct. 2-8.

McCready scored the first two goals of her career and handed out one assist while leading La Salle to a 5-0 win against George Mason on Senior Day. The midfielder from Medford, N.J., recorded a career-high five shots and three shots on goal in the victory.

Helping the Hawks to a 1-0-1 week, Cappelletti posted a pair of clean sheets for Saint Joseph's. Against George Mason, Cappelletti stood tall, turning back four shots to earn the shutout win in a 2-0 decision. The Fayettville, N.Y., native followed with a five-save afternoon on Sunday as the Hawks played to a 0-0 draw against Duquesne.

Bowman gave Dayton its lone tally in a 1-0 victory on the road at VCU last week. The St. Louis, Mo., product lofted the gamewinner over the keeper to the upper 90 in the 71st minute, giving the Flyers a crucial three road points with three matches to play. 

With just 1:53 to play, Schmidt, a rookie from Loves Park, Ill., found the back of the net to give the Ramblers a late 1-0 against Davidson. Schmidt collected a deflection off the keeper's gloves and a lofted a one-touch ball into the top of the net for the first goal of her career.
