ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A victory over nationally ranked Arkansas along with a road shutout at Drake propelled the Saint Louis women's soccer team into the national rankings following the opening week of action.
The Billikens went from receiving no votes in the preseason poll to the No. 19 within the
United Soccer Coaches rankings. That is just two spots away from the highest ranking in program history, achieved two seasons ago.
SLU also checks in at No. 23 in the
TopDrawerSoccer poll.
The Billikens host Notre Dame (2-0) Thursday, Aug. 25, at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m. The Fighting Irish are ranked 15th by Top Drawer Soccer and are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
