NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named VCU junior Ace Baldwin, Jr. its Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Loyola Chicago redshirt freshman Ben Schwieger was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played Nov. 28 – Dec. 4.
 
Baldwin averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals, while shooting .579 (11-of-19) from the field, including 5-of-6 (.833) from 3-point range in games against Vanderbilt and Temple. The guard from Baltimore, Md., shot 17-of-19 (.856) from the free throw line and posted a 3.3-to-1 assist to turnover ratio. He returned from injury after missing four games and poured in a career-high 28 points in a 70-65 win over Vanderbilt Wednesday. Baldwin then added 16 points and nine assists at Temple on Saturday.
 
Schwieger averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals across the Ramblers' two games last week. A guard/forward, he led the Maroon & Gold in an 85-70 win over Central Arkansas, connecting on six 3-pointers as part of a career-best 26-point effort against the Bears. The Aurora, Ill., product added eight points in Saturday's clash with city rival DePaul. A starter in each of Loyola's last three games, Schwieger currently ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.4 points per game.

Dayton’s DaRon Holmes II recorded a pair of double-doubles in leading the Flyers to a pair of wins, averaging 21.5 points and 11.0 rebounds while shooting .609 from the field in the victories … UD freshman Mike Sharavjamts averaged 9.0 points and 8.0 assists in the Flyers’ two wins, tallying 14 points and eight assists versus Southeast Louisiana … Fordham’s Khalid Moore had back-to-back double-doubles in leading the Rams to two wins, with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three assists versus Maine and 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists against Tulane … DeVon Cooper averaged 16 points for George Mason last week in a pair of victories, including a 19-point outing on 8-of-12  (.667) shooting and 3-for-5 (.600) from three … James Bishop was a force for GW, with 24 points and eight assists in a rout of South Carolina, and 26 points and five assists at Radford … La Salle’s Anwar Gill  scored 26 points on 9-of-15 (.600) from the field with six rebounds and three steals in an overtime win at Penn … Marquise Kennedy also had a 26-point performance on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting against DePaul en route to a 19.5 scoring average across two games … Massachusetts freshman R.J. Luis tallied 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while shooting .600 (6-for-10) from the field in a win at South Florida … Rhode Island’s Josaphat Bilau had 16 points and five rebounds while shooting 5-for-7 (.714) from the floor, 4-4 (.500) at the line and 2-2 (.500) from 3-point range … Rhody rookie Abdou Samb had 14 points and four rebounds while shooting 6-7 (.857) from the field against Providence … St. Bonaventure freshman Yann Farell had 18 points and nine rebounds on the road at Buffalo … Erik Reynolds II averaged 24 points and 4.0 assists for Saint Joseph’s last week … SJU freshman Christian Winborne had 19 points on .545 (6-for-11) field goal shooting with four rebounds and four assists against Fairleigh Dickinson … Yuri Collins dished out a whopping 34 assists last week, tying the A-10 record and setting the Saint Louis mark with 20 dimes versus Tennessee State followed by 14 assists against Southern Illinois for an average of 17 per game across two wins.
