ST. LOUIS – Dayton will make its ninth straight appearance in the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship final after dispatching No. 2 Davidson 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-22) Saturday at Chaifetz Pavilion.

The third-seeded Flyers (20-13) will face No. 1 Loyola Sunday at 1:00 pm ET / noon CT for the A-10 title and the NCAA Tournament bid that goes with it. Dayton, which has won four straight Atlantic 10 crowns, will be making its 20th appearance overall in the final.

UD overcame an early four-point deficit in the first set, and then registered six of seven points towards the end of the set to take the 1-0 lead. Four straight points at the beginning of set two, including a kill and ace by Taylor Russell, gave the Flyers a cushion they didn’t relinquish in set two.

Setter Alyssa Miller had a career match with 10 kills, 29 assists and seven digs. Russell posted 10 kills, four aces and six digs, and Lexie Almodovar led the Flyers with 11 kills. Amelia Moore had five blocks and Anna Wuensch had a match-high 18 digs.

Missing All-Conference First Team selection Anela Davis due to injury, Davidson (20-10) fought hard in set three to try to stop UD. The evenly-played match was tied at 21 when Russell tallied back-to-back kills and helped Moore on a block to move to match point at 24-22. Brooke Smith finished the three-set win off with a kill for Dayton.

A-10 Rookie of the Year Emma Slusser paced Davidson with 10 kills and equaled Moore with a match-high five blocks. Isabel Decker finished with 12 digs for the Wildcats.
