Bulls release

St. Bonaventure alumnus Jaylen Adams will again wear an NBA jersey this month, signing to play on the Chicago Bulls' Summer League roster.

After a year away due to the pandemic, the NBA Summer League returns to Las Vegas Aug. 8-17 with all 75 games of the competition airing live on ESPN networks or NBA TV. Every game will be available to stream on the ESPN app.

Adams continues his professional career with another opportunity at making an NBA roster. He signed a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks last November after finishing the 2019-20 season in the NBA with the Portland Trailblazers, including an appearance in the NBA Playoffs inside the 2020 Orlando bubble. This season, he appeared in seven games for the eventual NBA champions.

The 2018 St. Bonaventure graduate was one of the top players in the NBA G League a year ago, finishing second in the league's MVP voting after averaging 21.5 points, 5.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds. He also was an All-NBA G League First Team selection in summer 2020.

A three-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection and 2017-18 Co-Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, Adams signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks for the 2018-19 season and played in 34 NBA games that year. In 2018, he made his professional debut playing for the Hawks in the Summer League.

Adams ranks as Bonaventure's all-time top-scoring guard, finishing his career with 1,912 points which stands sixth among all Bonnies players. He also stands second all-time in Bonnies career 3-pointers (270) and third in assists (590).

He will join fellow Atlantic 10 alumnus and Saint Joseph's product Ryan Daly on the Bulls roster.

During Summer League play, each organization will play four games before the two teams with the best records head to a championship game. Teams that do not advance to the championship game will play a fifth game Aug. 16 or 17.
