DAYTON, Ohio. — Top-seeded Dayton got standout offensive performances from its three All-Conference First Team selections to beat No. 4 Fordham 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) Friday afternoon in the second Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship semifinal at the Frericks Center.

The Flyers (12-1) advance to the A-10 Championship final for the seventh straight time. UD will face second-seeded VCU for the fourth time in a row, after the Rams beat Rhode Island 3-0 in the first semifinal. Dayton holds a 2-1 advantage over VCU in the previous three championship final meetings.

Jamie Peterson tallied 12 kills and Lexie Almodovar recorded 10 kills to lead the Flyer offense. Bridget Doherty recorded 31 assists in the match, setting up 70.5 percent of Dayton's kills. As a team, UD hit .263 with Alayna Yates and Amelia Moore, both of whom recorded seven kills, hit .636 and .538 respectively to lead all hitters. Yates had a team-high five blocks and Dayton recorded seven blocks as a team.

Dayton took a 6-1 lead in set one, sparked by a pair of Peterson kills. Fordham fought back and cut the lead to three at 8-5 thanks to a kill by Aria De La Rosa. The Flyers slowly widened the gulf, eventually pushing the advantage to 10 at 22-12 on a Almodovar ace. That lead would hold through the end of the set, giving UD a 1-0 match advantage.
A 3-0 early spurt from a pair of Peterson aces gave Dayton a slight lead in set two, but from there, Fordham found its groove and kept the lead from swelling past seven. Dayton closed out the set on a Almodovar kill to take a 2-0 lead.

The Rams (5-4) opened set three with an offensive stance, establishing a 10-8 lead on two kills by Whitley Moody, single kills from Megan Brzozowski and McKenna Lahr as well as a pair of blocks from Bella Urena and Chloe Pejouan. The game was close for the remainder of the match, and with Dayton leading 20-17, Fordham scored three of the next four on kills from Moody and Urena. But with the Rams just one point down, the Flyers got hot and spread four straight kills across Doherty, Moore, Peterson and Almodovar to clinch the match.

Lahr led Fordham with an 11 kill, 11 dig double-double, while Moody, the A-10 Rookie of the Year, recorded seven. Brzozowski hit a team-high .429 and tallied 24 assists and 10 digs. Mallory Lipski also had 11 digs for the Rams. Fordham had six total blocks, led by Pejouan's four.
