NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced that VCU midfielder, Bridget McCormick, was named the Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, while Richmond’s Erika Latta earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. These awards, presented by BioSteel, were announced Tuesday and are for games played March 15-21. 

McCormick, a freshman from Haddonfield, N.J., scored two goals including the game-winner against Saint Louis, as well as recording an assist. The rookie midfielder tallied five shots including four shots on goal. 

Latta, a sophomore from Midlothian, Va., recorded a career-high five saves to shutout Davidson, as the Spiders went on to win 1-0. This is Latta’s first win and first shutout as the Spiders’ goalkeeper.
