NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named George Washington graduate student Kelly Amador its Women's Soccer Player of the Week, while Dayton junior Jessica Sheldon earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. St. Bonaventure freshman Chiara Gottinger was named Rookie of the Week. The awards, announced Monday, are the final accolades of the season, and are for games played. Oct. 18-24.

Amador had an impressive offensive week, leading GW with three goals in their two games. The forward from Yardley, Pa., netted a pair of goals against Duquesne on the road to give the Colonials a 3-1 victory. She followed that with a one-goal performance in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Davidson.

Sheldon, a midfielder, was part of a Dayton defense that notched two shutouts in the final week of A-10 play. UD held Fordham to four shots on goal, then limited Richmond to eight shots on target. The Medina, Ohio, native, also contributed to all three of the Flyers' goals in a win against Richmond, scoring once and recording a pair of assists to lead the Flyers to a No. 2 seed-clinching 3-0 victory.

Gottinger recorded three saves in her sixth shutout of the season in a double-overtime draw against Massachusetts, equaling the St. Bonaventure shutout record. The goalie from Pirching am Traubenberg, Austria, then made five saves in a crucial 2-1 victory that helped the Bonnies secured the No. 5 seed in the upcoming championship. Her 111 saves are most in the A-10 and ranks fifth nationally, while her save percentage (.854) and saves per game (6.17) are also best in the league.
