RICHMOND, Va. —Third-seeded La Salle defeated No. 3 Duquesne 3-1 (17-25, 25-21, 27-25, 28-26) in the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship quarterfinals Friday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
The Explorers (18-11), making their first appearance in the A-10 Championship, advance to the semifinals where they will face second-seeded Dayton Saturday at 4:30 pm ET.
Leading the way for La Salle was Madison Kuch, who recorded 22 kills and hit. 512 for the match. She was one of three Explorers with double-digit kills joining Elizabeth Osborn and Devin Corah. A-10 Setter of the Year, Katie Wood had 51 assists.
In a back-and-forth match, Duquesne took the first set, 25-17. La Salle responded to take set two and then pulled out victories in a thrilling third and fourth set.
Second Team All-Conference honoree, Dani Suiter led the Dukes with 52 assists. With the loss, Duquesne concludes the season with a record of 12-16.
