Saint Joseph's Tops Fordham in #A10WSOC Quarterfinal, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Behind goals from senior Taylor Ryan and sophomore Morgan Bower and a clean sheet from senior goalkeeper Grace Bendon, the third-seeded Saint Joseph's Hawks downed sixth seed Fordham, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday night at Sweeney Field.

The Hawks got on the board in the 15th minute, as Paige Bergman's free kick found Taylor Ryan, who angled a header inside the left post for her third goal of the season.
 
Saint Joseph's then added to the lead with a goal in the 49th minute.  Morgan Bower scored her seventh goal of the season on a shot from the left side that found the far right side of the goal for a 2-0 lead.

Bendon finished with two saves for the Hawks, while Fordham's Kelly LaMorte had four stops.
 
The loss ends Fordham's season at 9-9-1 overall.

With the win, the Hawks advance to face second seed VCU in the semifinals next Friday, November 2 at 3 p.m. at Dayton's Baujan Field.
