DAVIDSON, N.C. – No. 2 Fordham had an impressive second half on offense as Eric Ohlendorf tabbed a hat trick in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Championship Thursday at Alumni Soccer Stadium to defeat No. 7 Duquesne, 4-0.
The Rams (9-6-3) advance to face the winner of the No. 3 La Salle/No. 6 Rhode Island game Friday at 7:30 pm.
Ohlendorf got the Rams on the board in the 63rd minute with a shot deflected off the keeper, he was helped by Cole Stevenson who earned the assist. Ten minutes later Janos Loebe found himself in a one on one situation and capitalized as Joergen Oland made the pass to set up the score.
Shortly after, the Rams found themselves in the box again as Ohlendorf put one between the post on a pass from Patrick Thees. Ohlendorf capped off the win with a third goal that was chipped off the defense.
The Dukes had eight shots to Fordham’s ten, Duquesne had three saves to Fordham’s six and each team had two corner kicks. Duquesne ends its season with a 8-5-5 record overall.
